IPOD Video

IPOD video options are still fairly complicated since there are many formats to convert from.

Quicktime (Pro) and ITunes are the first options for using video with the IPOD.
An annoyance with QuickTime Pro is the $30 upgrade fee is lost when the application has a major update which can happen quite often.

There are a few other options for converting videos for viewing on the IPOD.

Two freeware PC video converters:
Videora http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/
Stoik Video Converter http://www.brothersoft.com/dvd_video/video_tools/stoik_video_converter_15581.html

Two commercial PC video converters:
PQ DVD Software ($34.95) http://www.brothersoft.com/dvd_video/dvd_ripper/pq_dvd_to_ipod_video_converter_42513.html
Cucusoft ($29.95) http://www.brothersoft.com/dvd_video/dvd_ripper/cucusoft_dvd_to_ipod_converter_42599.html

One freeware Mac video converter:
Isquint http://www.isquint.org/

I can’t vouch for the PC programs since I don’t have a video IPOD to test with. Donations gladly accepted ; ).
Isquint works well for my daughter.
